Policy administration & collections

Connecting policy records, premium schedules, payments and reconciliation in one operational workflow.

Enterprise systems

At a glance.

Insurance and funeral policy operations bring together member records, cover, monthly premiums, payment allocation and exception handling. The work centred on a platform for teams to manage these related tasks with clearer records and fewer manual handoffs.

The work

What the project brings together.

Three connected workflows at the centre of this profile.

01

Policy lifecycle

Member, beneficiary and policy records with plan status, premium dates and branch-aware access.

02

Payments & balances

Payment entries, outstanding balances and wallet credits tracked through explicit allocation rules.

03

Collections & reconciliation

Reference generation, file imports, failed-item review and reporting for operational follow-up.

The challenge

Understand the operating context.

A payment may need to settle an outstanding premium, cover a later period or become wallet credit. Those paths must remain traceable across branches, policies and reporting periods. The project called for careful rules around billing dates, identifiers, imports and corrections.

Our approach

Design around the flow of work.

The platform work connected member and policy administration with premium generation, collections and account balances. Import and reporting workflows were designed around real exceptions, including unmatched references and missed periods, so staff could investigate them rather than lose them inside a batch.

Delivery considerations

What matters as the work evolves.

  • Clear ownership of policy and payment data
  • Traceable handling of exceptions and adjustments
  • Reporting that supports branch and head-office work
